Today’s society is caught in The Rat Race and due to this situation the elders of the society have failed to cater to the needs of the future generation. Our society has begun to lose all its values and is mad at aping the West and the factor of Westernisation and its impact has only vomited social ills in the society which is currently on the increasing rate.
In view of the extensive deviation of students of Higher Educational Institutes, from cultural, moral and ethical values and the fact that lot of immoral and unethical behaviors were becoming common amongst them, MAHAGRADS (Malaysian Hindu Associate of Graduates was initiated to mobilize and identify such students and involve them in activities that will captivate them and at the same time impart value based inputs to them.
The move of having to impart moral values to them became a profound necessity. As such in the year 2000 a batch of 20 students from UM were given training in this respect at a resort in Pulau Pangkor and again in 2002, another batch of 20 students from various other Universities and Colleges were trained at NUBE, Port Dickson.
Highlights
2 youngsters one from 2000 – 2003 and other from 2006-2008, after their graduation from universities sacrificed their lifes and worked as full time social workers ( without any pay) to co-ordinate the above activities.

ACTIVITIES
Self Awareness Camp For Undergraduates
3 camps were conducted for Undergraduate in Pangkor(2000) participated by 30 students , Kem Setia Ikhlas, Seminyih, Selangor (2005) participated by 25 students and Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan (2006) participated by 20 students.
Dharmaduta Ke Bali
A group of 11 students of Higher Education from local Universities and Colleges of Malaysia participated in this historic event of Cultural Ambassadors, representing Malaysian Hindu Culture, going to the Hindu Island Bali of Indonesia consisting of 92% Hindus, from 8th June to 30th June 2005 as a contigent of MAHAGRADS (Malaysian Hindu Associate of Graduates), with the theme “Kruvantu Vishwam Aryam” (Let us enoble this earth). They stayed in 4 villages and conducted education and religious activities for them.
Self Awareness Camp for Pre University Students
Camps are conducted for students after SPM and STPM throughout the nation.
Seminars
Seminars themed as ‘Science and Spiritual’ themed seminar was conducted in 2006 in the TAFE college participated by undergraduates from various universities.
